Cathleen Gingrich - Administrator

Cathleen joined the CMC BC team in August of 2011. Cathleen is an accomplished Mezzo-Soprano, having received a B.F.A. from Concordia University in Montreal, Québec; she has also completed her M.Mus. at the University of British Columbia. In addition to her musical education Cathleen has also received a Diploma in Human Resources from George Brown College in Toronto.

Cathleen is a 2011 Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grant recipient for a lecture/recital entitled ‘Finding new repertoire in the digital age.’ The lecture explored the concept of finding music from Spain that is not well know in the Canadian canon, using modern library science techniques.

An accomplished performer, Cathleen has performed with the UBC Opera Ensemble, in both Vancouver and the Czech Republic. Cathleen has had the opportunity to work with many Canadian composers, including CMC Associate composers: Roddy Ellias, John Plant and R. Murray Schafer. Discovering new music and fostering growth for Canadian performers and composers is a passion for Cathleen and she is very happy to be able to use her administrative and musical talents to assist in this at the CMC BC.
