About Us

The British Columbia Regional Office of the Canadian Music Centre is located in downtown Vancouver in an elegant two-storey, street-level space with atrium, leased from the City of Vancouver. It is staffed by Bob Baker, Regional Director, and Stefan Hintersteininger, Librarian.

The BC Region maintains a free circulating library of some 15,000 compositions, documents the lives and works of all Associate Composers, and manages a recorded music archive consisting of nearly 5,500 performances of Canadian music. Centrediscs, CBC, and other recordings of Canadian music are available for purchase, as well as books, scores, and composer's supplies, including specially-produced manuscript paper.

Digital music editing facilities, digital printing (including European dimensions and oversize), and multiple binding capabilities allow our workshop to offer significant composer services to both Associate and non-Associate Composers. Centrepulse, the e-newsletter of the BC Regional Office, is distributed regularly and features news concerning BC composers, Canadian contemporary music, composer opportunities, concert & events in BC, BC Creative Hub activities and special projects, and recent library acquisitions.
