Bruno Degazio

Bruno Degazio is a freelance composer and sound editor for film and television. His recent film work includes the soundtrack for Anne Wheeler's Bye Bye Blues ( for which he received a GENIE nomination) and the design of the all-digital, six-channel sound tracks for the 3-D IMAX films Hikari - Echoes of the Sun and The Last Buffalo at the World's Fair in Osaka, Japan, as well as the soundtrack for Blue Planet, an IMAX documentary film on the environment. He has worked closely with experimental film makers Peter Mettler, Bruce MacDonald, Henry Jesionka, Peter Weibel and Bruce Elder and has composed commercial music for clients as diverse as Labatt's, Canadian Tire and the Government of Canada. He is the composer of many concert works for traditional, electronic and mixed media which have been performed in Canada, the United States and Europe. As a researcher in the field of algorithmic composition he has presented papers and musical works at leading national and international conferences. He is a founding member of SOUND PRESSURE and of the Canadian Electroacoustic Community.
