Maxime Goulet

Fascinated and inspired by the connections between the various forms of artistic expression, Maxime Goulet has been active in many spheres of musical creation, from opera to video games. He is currently composer-in-residence with the National Academy Orchestra of Canada at the Brott Music Festival. His compositions have been performed by such ensembles as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (a project associated with the 2010 Olympic Games), the Hollywood Studio Symphony (recording of a film soundtrack), the Victoria Symphony (the prize-winning work of the 2008 Reel Music Competition and first prize winner of SOCAN’s film music competition), the organization Codes d’accès (the cabaret-opera Bungalopolis, based on comic strips), the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the McGill Chamber Orchestra and the Ensemble Arkea. His music has been played throughout Canada, the United Stated and in Switzerland. Moreover, he currently holds a position as Senior Composer at the Gameloft company, where he has created the music for numerous video games (the Dungeon Hunter series, Brothers in Arms 2, Iron Man 2, Shrek Forever After, etc.). Maxime Goulet completed a Master’s degree in composition at the University of Montreal with Alan Belkin, and he took part in the 2009 ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles.
