Peter Allen has continually delighted audiences with his artistry, versatility and mastery with music-making. As a concert pianist, he is often heard on CBC regional and national radio and is well known to audiences in the Maritimes and throughout Canada for his captivating interpretations. With two solo CD's to his credit, Peter’s third disc is soon to be released, featuring Brahms Handel Variations and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

Peter is Professor of Piano at Dalhousie University's Department of Music, a post he has held since 2005. Also an active composer, he had the honour of being the only music composition finalist for the 2006 N.S. The world premiere was broadcast on CBC Radio 2’s Sunday Afternoon in Concert nationally on September 28, 2008, the actual day of the 5th anniversary of the storm.

Peter is an Associate Professor of the Canadian Music Centre (CMC), a member of SOCAN and a member of The Living Composers Project.
