Murray Geddes
 Biography

Murray Geddes (b. 1950) studied music formally at York University, and later apprenticed privately with Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer. His composing activities have been influenced by a variety of interests, including ethnomusicology, electronics and jazz. One such example is his three year study in East Indian Classical Voice and Drumming. His interest in non-conventional modes of musical and artistic expression has led his works to be used, for instance, in several experimental films and by many modern dance companies.
