Denis Schingh
 Biography

DENIS SCHINGH (b. Ottawa, 1959) received his Master of Music degree from the University of Montréal in 1983 and moved to Toronto shortly thereafter. For several seasons he directed l'Ensemble Denis Schingh, a new music group intended as a vehicle for his own work, but which eventually played music by other Canadian and foreign composers in appearances across Canada. While many of his compositions were conceived for his ensemble, he has also written several piano pieces that have entered the repertoires of Laurent Phillipe and Christina Petrowska. The ensemble's CD of Schingh's chamber music is distributed by the Canadian Music Centre.
